| Dr. Thornton gained her B.S.E. from Princeton University, her Ph.D. from Cambridge University, and was an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at MIT for six years. Dr Thornton is a leading expert in variation risk management: the systematic identification, assessment, and mitigation of variation during both product design and production. She focuses specifically on developing modeling tools to help with resource allocation and strategy decisions for variation control in design and production.
