Variation Risk Management Programs. We have helped organizations design, document, and deploy variation risk management programs. These programs are designed to integrate seamlessly into the existing product-development process and to help organizations get the most out of their existing Design for Six Sigma or robust design initiatives.

Variation Risk Management Training. Analytics provides off-the-shelf VRM training and can also develop organization-specific training. Customized courses include the development of company-specific examples and cases, integration with existing product development and quality programs, and conducting train-the-trainer programs.

Variation Risk Management Facilitation. Often, organizations need immediate help analyzing their existing products. Analytics will facilitate engineering meetings to identify the key characteristics of a product, create the variation flowdowns, assess the current risk levels, and plan for mitigating those risks. These facilitated sessions can help “kick-start” an organization and return immediate benefits to an existing product.

Variation Risk Management in Production

Production Analyses. Analytics will perform detailed analyses of the existing production and quality programs to assess the strengths and weaknesses of production environment. The results include quantified measures of the effectiveness of the current quality control as well as targeted recommendations for improvement.

Total Cost of Variation Analysis. Analytics can determine the total cost of variation to your organization including quality losses, warranty, capacity, inventory, and quality-control costs. The goal of the cost assessment is to identify the major variation-related cost drivers and to provide an ongoing tool for measuring and tracking the total cost of variation.
